Rediscovered! 2000 Year Old Tefillin

http://ffoz.org

It seems like every week there is a report from Israel of an exciting new archeological find. Many exciting sites and artifacts have been discovered since the Jewish people returned to their homeland in 1948. Each new discovery helps shed light on the Scriptures and confirm their truth. For Such a Time as This

http://ffoz.org

When I think of Purim, I think of the wonder and awe of God's sovereign plans for us. The theme of "For such a Time as This" perfectly pictures God's hand in the life of Esther, an orphan, reared by her uncle and then miraculously placed in the palace courts of the king.

Worshipping Messiah

http://nehrhaolam.weebly.com

"[...] At the name of [Yeshua] every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that [Messiah Yeshua] is Lord, to the glory of Elohim the Father" (Philippians 2:11-2, NLT). Worship includes grasping Messiah's hand and kissing it. Picture this: an overbearing obstacle presents itself. It is so overwhelming, that your mind is preoccupied to ensure to over that particular hurdle that’s affecting the quality of life and emotional distress that you’re going through.

A Stammering Tongue

http://nehrhaolam.weebly.com

Language is “the method of human communication, either spoken or written, consisting of the use of words in a structured and conventional way” (OED 2014). When we refer to speech, then it is “the expression of or the ability to express thoughts and feelings by articulate sounds” (OED 2014). When we refer to writing, then it is “a sequence of letters, words, or symbols marked on a surface” (OED 2014).

God-Fearers: The Balance of Torah

http://ffoz.org

Last week social media was abuzz with an article in a Jewish periodical that dealt with the topic of Gentiles observing Torah. The article by Menachem Kaiser, entitled “Observing Torah like Jesus,” was a friendly review of a recent Hebrew Roots conference that took place in Dallas, Texas. The article has circulated widely in both Jewish and non-Jewish circles, and the subject of the article itself has received both praise...

Prayer

http://nehrhaolam.weebly.com

Bible enthusiast from Perth, Western Australia asks, “How do Messianic Jews pray? How does it differ from the Evangelical Movement?” To Messianic Jews, prayer is not an act or a deed; it’s a lifestyle.         To Messianic Jews, prayer is not an act or a deed; it’s a lifestyle with a hopeful promise.

Can Women Wear Tzitzit and Tefillin?

http://ffoz.org

Traditional Orthodox Judaism interprets tzitzit as being part of a man’s garment. The Hebrew in Numbers 15 where this commandment appears is in the masculine form. Additionally, in Deuteronomy 22, where the mitzvah of tzitzit appears again, the commandment appears in close conjunction with the mitzvah “A woman shall not wear a man's garment
