I Have Been Dreaming About Such A Gift

http://feedproxy.google.com

Question: You said that we must stabilize internally the desire for the gift that the Creator wants to give us. Isn’t this an egoistic desire?

Answer: It is a very nice prayer. I want that all my desires will not be attracted to different unimportant matters but that they will be focused on what the Creator wants to give us.

Prostitutes & The Bible

http://www.nehrhaolam.org

15 Judah noticed Tamar and thought she was a prostitute, since she had covered her face. 16 So he stopped and propositioned her. “Let me have sex with you,” Judah said, not realizing that she was his own daughter-in-law. “How much will you pay to have sex with me?” Tamar asked. (Genesis 38:15-6, NLT)

A Meal As A Means Of Connection

http://feedproxy.google.com

A meal is one of the central points of the contact between us. It is an inseparable part of our human culture. Ancient traditions of communal meals distinguishes us from animals.

A meal is an action that is natural for our bodies. Babies are attached to their mothers by an umbilical cord through which they receive sustenance. When adults sit at the table and eat together, it is a sign of mutual trust and connection among them.

Worshipping Messiah

http://www.nehrhaolam.org

"[...] At the name of [Yeshua] every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that [Messiah Yeshua] is Lord, to the glory of Elohim the Father" (Philippians 2:11-2, NLT). Worship includes grasping Messiah's hand and kissing it. Picture this: an overbearing obstacle presents itself. It is so overwhelming, that your mind is preoccupied to ensure to over that particular hurdle that’s affecting the quality of life and emotional distress that you’re going through.

Sabbath Evening Service

http://www.nehrhaolam.org

Contrary to the typical Sunday service observed in many congregations such as this, Messianic Jews celebrate the Sabbath in a manner that best reflects the cultural, biblical heritage that we have inherited. When compared to the typical Sunday service, Shabbat is a completely different experience that many just do not understand. Some might even reason that those who keep the Sabbath do so for all the wrong reasons!

Pride

http://www.nehrhaolam.org

Scriptures say that “[…] if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither [does] the  Elohim’s assembly” (1 Corinthians 11:16). The proud coerce their victims with questions.         There will be times when our own brothers would love to enter into a biblical debate. Other than the fact that we really should not have such a practice within our fellowship, the Bible leads us to understand the reason why such a desire arises within some to want to debate Scriptures.

The Kippah

http://www.nehrhaolam.org

When it comes to answering cultural, biblical practices that many are unfamiliar with, it can be quite a headache. For some odd reason, the conversation changes from being able to provide a biblical explanation as to “Why do Jews wear the kippah?” to the petitioner’s desire for Jews to meet the social norms that they reason to be the more appropriate one without realizing that they’re infringing upon Jewish cultural values. I myself have been asked on numerous occasions about my kippah only to wind up in a very defensive disposition about it.

A Stammering Tongue

http://www.nehrhaolam.org

An excerpt from "A Stammering Tongue." Language is “the method of human communication, either spoken or written, consisting of the use of words in a structured and conventional way” (OED 2014). When we refer to speech, then it is “the expression of or the ability to express thoughts and feelings by articulate sounds” (OED 2014). When we refer to writing, then it is “a sequence of letters, words, or symbols marked on a surface” (OED 2014).

How does it differ from the Evangelical Movement?” To Messianic Jews, prayer is not an act or a deed; it’s a lifestyle.         To Messianic Jews, prayer is not an act or a deed; it’s a lifestyle with a hopeful promise.

Sabbath Hope

http://www.nehrhaolam.org

Aaliyah, a two years old child from South Africa, sits at her window sill waiting for daddy to come home. She tends to look out the window and see all the cars passing by; however, she recognizes daddy’s blue car as he pulls up the driveway, beeps his horn, wave at his daughter with a great big smile on his face, walks up the door and rings the doorbell. With a big happy smile on her face, Aaliyah says, “Daddy, daddy, daddy!” and runs to the door.

Heaven

http://www.nehrhaolam.org

Many are under the impression that they will be rewarded with eternal life conditions in heaven. Some, under the pressure of risking eternal condemnation, devout most of their entire lives submitting themselves to the authority of their religious institution under the most impoverished conditions hoping that the end result will be greater than the one that they’ve suffered in this life. Yet, if these who have suffered so much were informed about what the Scriptures say about heaven, they’d possibly make better life choices for themselves and their family.
